Regenerative Food Systems

The Regenerative Food Systems group supports the following policy ideas:

  • Farming apprenticeship programs:

    • Create apprenticeship programs or a working group to discuss the creation of apprenticeship programs to increase the number of youth learning sustainable farming methods and practices.

  • FFA Funding and Outreach

    • Increase the funding and outreach of the FFA, expanding out to more schools and organizations to increase the number of youth interested in sustainable agriculture and farming practices. Goal: increase number of farmers in Hawaii

  • Small farmers & Government

    • Develop connections between small farmers with government groups that develop business plans for the most efficient and effective farming practices while integrating more native hawaiian farming techniques and prioritizing sustainable agricultural practices
